Introduction | Angel News

The Angel Academy of Art, recently moved to new premises in one of Florence's beloved neighborhoods close to the city centre. With the idea to invest in the long-term future of the Academy they have consolidated their two previous campuses into one vast new studio space.
The exciting new state-of-the-art school was meticulously designed to meet the particular specifications for study of the old master's techniques. The abundance of both natural and controlled lighting is balanced by deep olive coloured walls that accentuate skin tones. The temperature-controlled clean-air environment provides optimum comfort during working hours and an elegant exhibition gallery weaves around the studios displaying the remarkable works of students past and present. It's a great location with lots of shops, bars, etc.
Florence is one of the most beautiful Renaissance cities in Europe; it is inspiring, intimate
and safe. The cost of living is on par with most other small cities, and the open-air food
markets are a wonderful excuse to keep to your budget. It is also easy to travel around the
city and its environs, as the public transportation system is excellent and affordable.
Classes are in session Monday through Friday, leaving the weekends free for students to complete home assignments and to visit the local galleries, the majority of which are located in the historical centre of town and are easily accessible on foot.
Optional evening classes and related study:
Each evening during the week, students have additional opportunities to study. Twice
each week, students of all levels can work from the live model. Students who have progressed past the initial projects may also participate in a twice-weekly portraiture workshop. All students are invited to attend the lecture series on art history and techniques.
The Angel Academy also supplies students with letters of introduction to visit and copy
the original old master drawings in the Gabinetto dei Disegni in the world famous Uffizi
Gallery.
