Enrolment information for

Academic Year 2014/2015

 

Fall 2014 Trimester: September 22 to December 5 2014
Winter 2015 Trimester: January 7 to March 20 2015
Spring 2015 Trimester: April 7 to June 12 2015

 


 

FEES

The fee for each of the three terms in the 2014/15 academic year is €3500.00 (there are three trimesters in one academic year: Fall, Winter and Spring). Please note that prices are subject to change without notice. All costs of supplies and materials are the responsibility of the student, as are all housing and living costs.

Application

Application is open to all: there are no restrictions on age or experience. We do not require any previous Educational Certificates of whatever title from the applicant. New students will be admitted at the beginning of the Fall, Winter and Spring trimesters.

 

The traditional programme taught at Angel Academy of Art, Florence, is one of systematic progression, each project building on the lessons learned from the previous one. For this reason, it is imperative that every student begins at square one: an intensive focus on drawing. This successful, step-by-step process teaches the student to thoroughly appropriate the skills needed for representational painting. There are no shortcuts to excellence.

 

Advanced placement in this system can come under consideration only in the circumstance of a student wishing to transfer from another "atelier" school to our own. In this case, we would ask to see slides or photographs of standard exercises in rendering completed at the previous institution (ie. cast drawings, cast paintings, figure drawings, etc.) The student would then enter our programme at the level appropriate to his/her studies.

 

Students who have gained experience in a university, those who have studied art independently, or those coming from another art school whose course is not recognized as atelier-style, do not qualify for advanced placement in our programme. However, these students with more experience in drawing and painting tend to move through the course faster and with greater facility.

 

The Angel Academy of Art, Florence is committed to a policy of non-discrimination in its admissions; however the Academy reserves the right not to accept applications which in the absolute judgement of its management are exceeding the appropriate number of attendees to the courses or are otherwise deemed to be out of line with the programmes' orderly management.

 

The Angel Academy of Art, Florence reserves the right to make changes in teaching staff when necessary.

Application deadlines

The deadlines for receipt of applications for the 2014/2015 academic year are as follows (however as places are limited and subject to availability it is advisable to anticipate these dates).

 

Fall 2014 Trimester April 30 2014
Winter 2015 Trimester September 15 2014
Spring 2015 Trimester December 1 2014

 

Applications received after these dates will be placed on a waiting list for the dates requested.

Conditions

Upon acceptance, you will be requested to confirm your place with a non-refundable/non-transferable deposit in the amount of €600.00. Please contact us for details. Tuition balance in the amount of €2,900.00 must be paid by the following dates (please note: drawing and painting supplies are not included):

 

Fall 2014 Trimester balance due: May 15 2014
Winter 2015 Trimester balance due: October 1 2014
Spring 2015 Trimester balance due: December 15 2014

 

All costs of supplies and materials are the responsibility of the student.

 

English is the main language used.

 

The Angel Academy of Art does not provide or find housing for students.

Cancellations

  1. Cancellations must be made in writing and sent to the school by registered letter, fax or email.
  2. If a cancellation is made more than 31 days before the beginning of the course, the school will retain half of the tuition fee plus the non-refundable deposit.
  3. If a cancellation is made 30 days before the beginning of the course, no refund will be given.
  4. There will be no refund for students who are absent during classes or who take extended leave for whatever reason.
